Read MoreLincolnshire brand, Massingberd-Mundy, has partnered with Kawasaki Motors UK to become the title sponsor for Team Green racing in the 2020 Bennetts British Superbike Championship.
As a result of the partnership, Kawasaki machines across all classes will compete under the team name of ‘Massingberd-Mundy Kawasaki’. This includes the FS3 Racing Kawasaki Superbikes raced by team leader, Danny Buchan, and Lincoln-born, Lee Jackson.
Massingberd-Mundy products are produced on the South Ormsby Estate in the Lincolnshire Wolds, as part of the estate’s ambition to support the growth of a modern and dynamic rural economy in the Lincolnshire Wolds. The company is best known for Massingberd-Mundy Lincoln Red Beef and is developing a range of exciting new products including a collection of high quality gins which will be launched in 2020.
Jon Thornes, Custodian of South Ormsby Estate, home of Massingberd-Mundy, said:
“I’ve been involved in British motorsport for many years, both as a fan and a sponsor. Being able to support the teams and their riders at every level of the British Superbike Championship, from the juniors to the premier class, is hugely rewarding. I think we have a championship-winning team and I’m looking forward to seeing what 2020 will bring.
“I’m also pleased to be continuing my long-standing relationship with Kawasaki UK and combining my two passions- motorsport and local Lincolnshire produce. Both are synonymous with quality and have a long and respected pedigree.”
Kawasaki Motors UK Senior Racing Coordinator, Ross Burridge, said:
“I’m pleased to see Kawasaki’s Team Green racing efforts take this new form. It’s no secret that racing at this level costs a lot of money and it would be very difficult to achieve the results we do without significant support from outside sponsors such as Massingberd-Mundy.
“As a sponsor, they have a passion for racing and want to achieve success on the track, as well as for their business away from the track. We welcome them with open arms for the 2020 season and beyond, as we look to retain the championship winning successes of the past few seasons.”
Where possible, Massingberd-Mundy products use ingredients grown or produced on the estate in coordination with local farmers, craftspeople and partners.
One of the brand’s most popular products, Massingberd-Mundy Lincoln Red Beef, is produced from one of the world’s largest herds of rare ‘original population’ Lincoln Red cattle which are reared on the 3,000-acre estate. The high quality beef is available for purchase online and is delivered to households across the country.
These very rare ‘original population’ Lincoln Reds date back to the late 18th century and their genetic base can be traced back to cattle introduced by the Viking invaders in 440 – 660 A.D. While they have come very close to extinction, Massingberd-Mundy is using sustainable farming to help the traditional breed to recover in numbers so it can continue to be appreciated by future generations.
Select cuts of their beef are now being sold online direct from the farm they are reared on and, as well as being available online, the beef will also be on sale to the general public at all twelve rounds of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship next year.
